Dr. Gerriet Oberlein

Gerriet Oberlein is chemist, earned his diploma in polymer chemistry at the University of Hamburg and then did his doctorate in 1992 at the University of Hamburg on high-performance fibers.

He started his professional career in research at Akzo Nobel. Before joining the patent department in 1998, he worked internationally for three years as a consultant on polyester technologies. Gerriet Oberlein is a German patent attorney and a professional representative before the European Patent Office. He is also a European trademark and design attorney and thus admitted before the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). He is allowed to act before the Austrian Patent Office and has been admitted as a representative at the UPC (Unified Patent Court). Gerriet has been Managing Director of CPW GmbH since 2007 and has many years of experience in industrial patent departments. His main activities are in the field of polymers, high-performance fibers and spinning technologies. In addition, he has experience in the field of US patent law.

Gerriet Oberlein is the managing director and co-owner of Schröder Oberlein Patentanwalts GmbH (SOP GmbH), which supports CPW GmbH in handling national IP matters.
